Strategic implementation of visualisation across multiple
databases - UK Government
A project to deliver visualisation
throughout the organisation to enhance the value from underlying data
sources for analysis and investigation. This project covered a vast range
of data sources and a huge variety of data items. The ultimate result
was the dissemination of visualisation across the organisation to 3,000
desk tops. An added benefit was that through working with AntelectÕs development
package, the team were able to reduce the time it took to understand and
analyse the underlying data sources and then to combine many sources into
a single index that they could then offer to end users in a fully operational
visualisation application.
Why Antelect?
- The range of data it can handle - everything can
be modeled in Antelect - people, organizations, events, locations,
dates, values and assets etc.
- The simplicity and sophistication of the applications
- The ease of distribution of both the underlying
data repositories and the applications.
- Supportable, scalable, industry standard database
technology.
- The amount of data it can handle. It is designed
to handle both small projects involving 100's of items to being a permanent
capability covering literally millions of objects from multiple sources.
- The modeling capability. It is designed to allow
rapid modeling of data by the people who need to use the information
and for users to "re-arrange" a model extremely quickly. This
creates an environment whereby the development team can prototype and
discuss with the ultimate end user the value and decisions they are
making in the development process.
- The ingest tools. These have been designed to
be as simple and straightforward and to incorporate up-dating mechanisms.
These come with wizards and step by step guidance to increase the range
of people who can use it. Training to use them takes approximately 1
day
